-General Sevice Questions-

How do I send my images to Phopar online? back to top
Phopar has 2 online options for you to use to send us your files. The Dropbox, and our Photo Finale Quick Start software. The Dropbox is a browser based upload feature that doesn't require you to download any software, but because it uses your browser to upload images to Phopar it can be a very slow process (depending on your internet connection). We highly recommend our customers use our second option, Photo Finale QS. Photo Finale QS is a software that requires a 12mb download, but once downloaded to your computer you will have an award winning photo retouching and printing software at your finger tips. This method of sending us images is much faster than the Dropbox and will allow you to send many more files at much larger sizes.

Our system is set up to recieve files that are based on the industry standard RGB color space. The RGB color space is the default setting for most digital cameras and software. Your digital files should be saved as either JPG or TIFF files. Your files must be in RGB color mode, we can not except greyscale files. And make sure to save your files at 8Bits/Channel.

What resolution should my files be saved at? back to top
The resolution of your file depends on your expected print outcome. If you use a good quality digital camera or scanner at a high resolution and with minimal compression, you will be very happy with the results. The term "Resolution" relates to the number of pixels. The more pixels the better your resolution. For more detailed information on what size you should save your files to please use our Digital Tips page for a reference.

Can I order Black & White or Sepia prints from my files? back to top
Yes, you can convert the files yourself, or send instructions for us to convert the files for you at no extra charge as long as the files are RGB. We will charge an additional fee for converting files that are not RGB.

How do I send my digital files to Phopar? back to top
You can send your digital files to Phopar two ways: by Dropbox or by using our Photo Finale software. We prefer that our customers do not send us image files through email because of viruses and harmful files that are easily transferred via email.
